FULL ACCOUNT
On the night of December 10, 1999, 18-year-old Michael Negrete, a first-year student at UCLA, was last seen in the common area of his dormitory playing video games with his roommates. At some point during the night he went to his room. In the morning his roommate found him gone. Everything Michael owned remained behind: his wallet, his ID, his keys, his jacket, his shoes, his money. He had not taken a single possession. It was as though he had simply stepped outside and ceased to exist. His dormitory was on a secured, well-lit campus in Westwood, Los Angeles. No camera captured him leaving. No witness saw him go. No sign of a struggle was found. His credit cards and bank account were never used. Michael had given no indication of being troubled — he was a well-liked student adjusting normally to college life. No remains have ever been found. No confirmed sighting has ever been made. The UCLA campus disappearance remains completely unexplained. He would be in his 40s today.
