FULL ACCOUNT
On November 1, 2001, 21-year-old Penn State student Cindy Song attended a Halloween party in State College, Pennsylvania and began walking home in the early morning hours. She called a friend around 3:00 AM during her walk. It was the last known contact anyone had with her. She never returned to her off-campus apartment. Her roommates reported her missing the following day. State College is a compact college town with a strong sense of community and a historically low violent crime rate. The route between the party and Cindy's apartment was short and well-traveled by students. Cameras in the area showed no trace of her after she began her walk. No witnesses came forward. No remains have ever been found. Cindy's family, originally from South Korea, relocated to the United States to help search for their daughter. They spent years in State College, conducting searches, hanging flyers, and appealing to the public. State College police have investigated multiple persons of interest over the years, but no arrest has ever been made.
