Jessica Runions Gets Into a Car After Bonfire — Body Never Recovered
Unverified report — this account has not been independently confirmed. Treat all claims as witness testimony pending investigation.
Witness Account
On the night of September 8, 2016, 21-year-old Jessica Runions attended a bonfire in Raymore, Missouri and later accepted a ride from an acquaintance, Kylr Yust. It was the last time anyone saw her alive. Two days later, Jessica's car was found abandoned and burned in a rural area of Cass County. Investigators quickly focused on Kylr Yust, who had a prior restraining order filed by Jessica and a history of erratic behavior. In 2020, Yust led investigators to the remains of Jessica Runions in a wooded area — and also led them to the remains of Kara Kopetsky, another young woman who had gone missing in 2007, with whom Yust had also had a relationship. In 2021, Yust was convicted of two counts of first-degree murder in both deaths. He received two life sentences. Despite his conviction, Jessica Runions's body has never been fully recovered — only partial remains were found. Where the rest of her remains are has never been determined. Kylr Yust has refused to provide further information.
