FULL ACCOUNT
In 1993, Tony and Debbie Pickman rented a house in Atchison, Kansas that they soon found was already occupied. Within weeks of moving in, unusual events began occurring, initially innocuous but rapidly escalating to physical attacks. Tony in particular became the target of violent phenomena.
Scratch marks appeared spontaneously on Tony's arms, stomach, and back while he was in the house—sometimes in front of witnesses. He reported being burned and pushed by an unseen force. Toys would activate on their own, pictures would fly off walls, and a rocking chair would rock independently.
A psychic named Renee Tobias identified a spirit she called Sallie, the ghost of a child who died in the house after a surgical procedure. However, investigation suggested a darker entity was using the child's image as a mask and that the aggression was targeted specifically at Tony as an adult male.
Investigators who spent the night documented extensive video evidence including objects moving, lights switching on and off, and temperature anomalies. The Pickmans eventually fled the house due to the escalating attacks. The Sallie House became one of the most documented cases of a physically violent haunting in modern paranormal research.
