This is the last update to this account.
I'm writing it because I want a record to exist somewhere outside my apartment, outside my building, somewhere that can be found later.
For those who haven't followed the previous posts: I live in a fourteen-floor apartment building. Over the past three months I've documented anomalous activity on floors twelve through fourteen. Sounds from unoccupied units. Lights in rooms that have no power connected. Residents on those floors moving out unexpectedly and being unreachable after. My requests to building management for access to those floors being ignored and then denied.
What's changed in the past week:
The anomalous activity has moved. It's now on my floor — ten. I've heard the sounds through the walls. I've seen the lights. Two of my neighbors have stopped answering their doors. One of them I can hear inside, but she won't respond.
Last night, for the first time, I heard the sounds directly above me. My ceiling. Whatever is happening on ten is directly above my unit now.
I've contacted the police. A report was filed. Officers came and found nothing. They were professional. They couldn't explain what I'd recorded. They told me to continue documenting.
I've been documenting.
This morning I woke up and the sounds were not above me.
They were in my hallway.
I'm writing this at 7 AM. I can hear something outside my door. It's not loud. It's patient. It's been there since approximately 5 AM and it hasn't knocked and it hasn't left.
I don't know what happens when I open the door. I've decided I'd rather open it than wait for whatever is on the other side to stop waiting.
This is my last update. If someone finds this account after: the building is at [address redacted]. The records are on my laptop. The recordings are backed up to cloud storage under this email.
I want a record to exist.
I'm going to open the door now.
