FULL ACCOUNT
In 1989, a woman named Jackie Hernandez in San Pedro, California reported experiencing poltergeist activity that she believed was connected to the death of a man in her home. The phenomena included putrid liquid seeping from the walls, apparitions of a young man's disembodied head, and objects moving throughout the house. Paranormal investigators Jeff Wheatcraft and Barry Conrad brought a film crew and documented events over several months. During an investigation of the attic, Jeff Wheatcraft was reportedly dragged by an unseen force and nearly strangled with a camera cord while attempting to photograph in a confined space. In the most dramatic documented incident, Jackie Hernandez was reportedly levitated and carried across a room, an event witnessed by multiple investigators. Conrad captured video footage of what appeared to be objects being thrown in real time with no one nearby. The case became the subject of a 1993 documentary. The phenomena followed Hernandez when she moved to a new residence in Sunland, California, suggesting the poltergeist was associated with her rather than the location. Psychics who investigated identified the entity as the spirit of a young man who had drowned, and the phenomena appeared to diminish over time. The San Pedro case is notable for the number of external witnesses and the video documentation obtained.
