FULL ACCOUNT
Jack the Ripper is the name given to an unidentified serial killer active in the Whitechapel district of London in 1888, who murdered and mutilated at least five female prostitutes between August and November of that year. The murders were characterized by deep throat incisions, abdominal mutilations, and in some cases the removal of organs, leading to speculation the killer possessed surgical knowledge. The Metropolitan Police investigated hundreds of suspects without making an arrest, and the case has never been solved. Over 130 years later, Jack the Ripper remains the most famous unsolved murder case in history, with over 100 named suspects.
