FULL ACCOUNT
Bible John was the name given by press to an unknown serial killer responsible for three murders of young women in Glasgow, Scotland, between 1968 and 1969. All three victims were strangled after attending the Barrowland Ballroom, and witnesses reported each had met a charming, well-dressed man who quoted the Bible and expressed disapproval of female promiscuity. Despite extensive investigation and a famous photofit composite, the killer was never identified. In 1996, Scottish police exhumed the body of John Irvine McInnes following a DNA tip, but he was ruled out. The case officially remains unsolved.
