FULL ACCOUNT
Between 1976 and 1977, four children were abducted, sexually assaulted, and murdered in Oakland County, Michigan, in a case that caused parents across the United States to reconsider childhood freedoms. Each victim was cared-for postmortem — fed, bathed, and clothed in clean laundry — before being left in a visible outdoor location. Despite a decades-long investigation that named multiple suspects including Christopher Busch and John Hastings, no one has ever been charged with the murders. The case remains one of Michigan's most disturbing and enduring unsolved homicide series.
