FULL ACCOUNT
On June 13, 2001, 19-year-old Jason Jolkowski of Omaha, Nebraska left his family's home to walk three blocks to a nearby Burger King, where a coworker was scheduled to pick him up and drive him to work. It was a short walk through a quiet residential neighborhood, in the middle of the morning, with no dangerous conditions. His parents were home when he left. He was never seen at the Burger King. His coworker arrived to pick him up and found no one there. Jason has never been seen again. No witness has ever come forward to report seeing him in those three blocks. No camera captured him. No remains have ever been found. He left behind his car, his belongings, and no indication whatsoever of planning to disappear. He had no known enemies, no history of running away, and was described as a responsible and grounded young man. His family continues to search for him and runs the Project Jason nonprofit, which assists families of missing adults. The case remains one of the most inexplicable disappearances in Nebraska history.
