The list is extensive. There are currently 1,847 confirmed negative statements about SCP-055. From these, researchers have attempted to construct a positive description by elimination. The attempt has produced no result that researchers can hold in their minds for longer than approximately 40 seconds after completing the reasoning.
One researcher, Dr. ██████, spent three months conducting the most systematic elimination analysis attempted to date. She emerged from the project with a written conclusion sealed in a blank envelope, addressed to herself, with the instruction: "Open this when you've forgotten."

Addendum 055-A: Theoretical Framework
The SCP Foundation's Antimemetics Division has developed a theoretical model for SCP-055 based on the consistency of the forgetting phenomenon. Their current hypothesis:
SCP-055 is not a thing that cannot be perceived. It is a thing that, once perceived, removes its own perception from the observer. It allows itself to be seen, understood, and even remembered, for the duration of direct experience. The moment the direct experience ends, the understanding unravels.
This means SCP-055 is understood, regularly, by every researcher who enters its chamber.
This means the Foundation has understood SCP-055 hundreds of times.
This means no one has ever succeeded in carrying that understanding out the door.
Addendum 055-B: Note
The following was found written on a notepad in the SCP-055 containment observation area. The handwriting matches no identified staff member.
"You already know what I am. You knew the moment you saw this. You'll forget by the time you finish reading."
The notepad has been logged as an artifact of interest. Researchers who read the note and are asked immediately afterward what it said cannot reproduce the text accurately.
