FULL ACCOUNT
Between 1964 and 1965, the naked bodies of six women — all sex workers — were found in and around the River Thames in West London, the killer nicknamed "Jack the Stripper" in media reference to Jack the Ripper. Victims had been strangled and in some cases had teeth missing, consistent with forced oral sex. Police identified a strong suspect — a security guard who worked near a factory where paint matching victims' bodies was identified — who committed suicide in 1965 while under investigation. The murders ceased after his death, but no charges were ever filed and the case was never officially solved.
