The Disappearance of Tara Calico

Tara Calico, a 19-year-old from Belen, New Mexico, disappeared while cycling on a highway near her home on September 20, 1988. In June 1989, a Polaroid photograph was found in a Florida parking lot depicting a young woman and boy, bound and gagged in the back of a van; Tara's family and the FBI believed the woman was Tara. Despite investigation across multiple states and significant media coverage, Tara has never been found. The origin of the Polaroid photograph was never definitively established, and her fate remains unknown over 35 years later.
