FULL ACCOUNT
James Riddle Hoffa, the powerful International Brotherhood of Teamsters president who had extensive ties to organized crime, disappeared on July 30, 1975, from a restaurant parking lot in Bloomfield Township, Michigan. He was last seen waiting for a meeting with two Mafia figures. Despite being one of the FBI's most investigated disappearances, Hoffa's body has never been found, and no one has ever been charged with his murder. He was declared legally dead in 1982. Over the decades, numerous alleged burial sites have been excavated without result, and the case remains one of America's most famous unsolved disappearances.
