The Disappearance of Natalee Holloway

Natalee Holloway, an 18-year-old American student, disappeared on May 30, 2005, on the last night of a high school graduation trip to Aruba. She was last seen leaving a nightclub with Dutch national Joran van der Sloot and two Surinamese brothers. Despite an extensive international investigation involving Dutch authorities and the FBI, her body was never found and no charges were filed in Aruba. In 2023, van der Sloot — already serving a 28-year Peruvian sentence for a separate murder — pleaded guilty in the US to extortion related to falsely promising information about Holloway's fate.
