FULL ACCOUNT
On September 17, 2009, 16-year-old Kayla Berg was captured on security cameras at a Walmart store in Wausau, Wisconsin. The footage appeared to show her leaving the store in the company of a man — but the individual could not be clearly identified. Kayla was reported missing when she failed to return home that evening. She had been having some difficulties at home and had reportedly talked about leaving, which initially complicated the investigation — but as weeks and months passed with no contact whatsoever, investigators treated the case as a probable abduction. No credit card activity, no cell phone contact, and no witness sightings have ever surfaced. Despite the Walmart camera footage, the male figure was never identified and never came forward. Multiple investigations and searches of the Wausau area and surrounding rural Wisconsin turned up nothing. Kayla Berg was officially classified as endangered missing. She would be in her early 30s today. No answers have ever been found, and no one has ever been charged in connection with her disappearance.
