Ariel School UFO Landing — 62 Children Witness Craft and Beings in Zimbabwe

On September 16, 1994, approximately 62 children at the Ariel School near Ruwa, Zimbabwe reported witnessing a silver craft land in a brushy area adjacent to their school playground during morning break. Several of the children reported seeing one or two beings emerge from the craft. The beings were described as small with large heads and large black eyes, wearing tight black suits. The children said the beings appeared to communicate with them through eye contact, conveying disturbing visions about environmental destruction. Harvard psychiatrist Dr. John Mack visited the school and conducted extensive interviews with the children and their drawings. He found no evidence of collaboration or coaching. The children came from a variety of cultural backgrounds and gave remarkably consistent accounts. Teacher Colin Mackie and several parents also reported seeing unusual lights in the sky that morning. The case attracted international attention. Over 25 years later, many of the witnesses have maintained their accounts as adults and consider the experience profoundly formative.
