Somewhere on the internet there is a video simply called "The Grifter." It has no verified source, no known creator, no confirmed full viewing. People who claim to have watched it all the way through do not describe what they saw.

I worked as an intern at Nickelodeon Animation Studios the summer after my sophomore year of college. The screening that day was supposed to be a rough cut of an unaired episode. What we watched was not a rough cut.

One day everything became dogs. Not transformed — replaced. The ground, the buildings, the sky. All of it: dogs. Living, breathing, wall-to-wall dogs, as far as anyone could see.
