FULL ACCOUNT
Robert William Pickton was a Canadian pig farmer convicted of the second-degree murders of six women from Vancouver's Downtown Eastside, though he claimed to have killed 49 and is believed to have murdered up to 33 women between 1983 and 2001. He disposed of bodies on his Port Coquitlam farm, with some victims' remains allegedly ground into pig feed. Police received complaints about Pickton for years before conducting a major search of his farm in 2002, finding DNA evidence of 33 missing women. He received six concurrent life sentences in 2007 with no eligibility for parole for 25 years.
