The Chicago Rippers, a Satanic cult of four members led by Robin Gecht, kidnapped, tortured, mutilated, and murdered at least 18 women in the Chicago area between 1981 and 1982. The group severed victims' left breasts as part of ritual ceremonies. Gecht and his associates Edward Spreitzer and brothers Andrew and Thomas Kokoraleis were all charged; Thomas Kokoraleis was executed in 1999, and Andrew Kokoraleis was also executed. Gecht received 120 years on rape and attempted murder charges and has never been charged with murder. Spreitzer received multiple life sentences.
