FULL ACCOUNT
This cold case entry covers the ongoing DNA investigation into JonBenét Ramsey's 1996 murder in Boulder, Colorado. In 2008, advanced DNA testing found an unknown male's DNA on the victim's clothing and under her fingernails, definitively clearing the Ramsey family and pointing to an unidentified intruder. Boulder Police reopened the investigation in 2023 and announced they were using cutting-edge DNA phenotyping and genealogical techniques to profile the unknown suspect. Despite 28 years of investigation, the person whose DNA is on JonBenét's clothing has never been identified or matched to any known suspect.
